Top 5 Consumer Tech
By: Daniel Herrera Oregel February 11, 2018
Technology this past year has made incredible advances, but a few were more than innovative. Here is the top 5 trending consumer tech throughout 2017.

5. Xbox One X
The Xbox One X is, by far, the best console in 2017, delivering 4k HDR at 60 frames per second This is superior to any other console in 2017, which enhances the resolution of every game, making it look brand new. You could play a game that came out a year ago and run smooth graphics in 4k. Games like Forza Motorsport 7, Battlefront II, and Tomb Raider all pulled out new updates for this console. This 4k gaming that Microsoft incorporated into the Xbox One X is amazing, but don’t exclude its competitor, the PS4 pro from Sony, which also has 4K HDR gaming, creating the other most bought console for gaming around the war (not including PC or Nintendo). Even though the PS4 pro is preferred by many, Microsoft came out with a better console this year, making the Xbox One X take fifth place.

4. Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch is one of the most creative consoles in the consumer market. This is due to the fact that it has a distinctive design. It’s unlike any other console, with its 6.2-inch tablet and two versatile, removable Joy-Con controllers, and the capability of being used solo or split for local multiplayer gaming. While lacking the raw power to produce 4K HDR graphics like its rivals, its innovative design is a surprising hit. Although it has many unique and state-of-the-art features, it doesn't support many of the amazing games that many other consoles have, like Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, and Fortnite. However, it does include all of the classics such as Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon, many of the classics that other consoles don't have, which makes it one of the most interesting consoles of 2017

3. Samsung S8/ S8+/ Note 8
The way the Samsung Galaxy S8 is put together has to be the defining feature of the handset. It looks like a phone that's been brought back from the future, a device that we've been crying out for a phone manufacturer to be brave enough to put together. If you're upgrading to the S8 from the Galaxy S5 or S6, or switching from an iPhone, then you'll be genuinely amazed by the S8. The glass is curved on both sides, with the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it pushed many other companies to follow in their footsteps.

2. Google Pixel 2
The Pixel 2 has won the best camera quality on a smartphone yet. It captures the best pictures out of any smartphone on the market. It is also one of the greatest rising smartphones with it being only on its second generation. The pixel has only had a few years of growth, but it has done everything right. The bezels are big, but it cancels out because of the picture quality and infinite memory (it uses google cloud to store pictures and videos). The resolution is also amazing with great quality display.
1. iPhone X
The iPhone X set the standards for a whole new look to the iPhone. It is the huge leap forward that Apple's handsets needed. Aside from the original iPhone in 2007, this new iPhone is set to have the biggest impact on Apple’s smartphone direction ever. Apple itself is calling it the future of the smartphone, the embodiment of what it’s been trying to achieve for a decade. Surprising everyone with a new iPhone X that had a huge display and amazing body to screen ratio. The iPhone X amazed the world by creating something that no one expected from an iPhone. Getting rid of the home button and basing the whole phone off of gestures. They also introduced the new anaemoji that lets you create your own emojis. It also has an amazing camera that can use your face a password.
