Stranger Things: The Best Netflix Original

Netflix has become very well known for their multiple Netflix Originals- and for good reason. Several of these series have reached great heights in popularity. Undoubtedly, the chief among them is Stranger Things.

More and more, TV and film are adopting a futuristic era to set their stories. Stranger Things, on the other hand, chooses to set their sights in the opposite direction. Set in the 1980s, Stranger Things promotes feelings of nostalgia; featuring walk men, arcade games, and record players. Right from the start, this show offers a new, yet vintage, vibe.

Although the show reminisces in fond memories from the 80s, the Duffer Brothers (writers/creators) manage to absorb supernatural forces into the script. This adds an extra component of mystery that is doled out in such a way that is gripping beyond any other Netflix original.  When the show offers answers, you will gain more questions to keep the ball rolling. As each episode ends, you will be binge watching the next. Stranger Things compels you with the out of this world factors that create mystification and thrill.

Stranger Things was casted perfectly and articulately, which has devised a first-rate show. For starters, two of the characters, Will and Jonathan Buyers, truly resemble brothers. This gives the show a great sense of accuracy right off the bat. The stellar cast also features Winona Ryder, one of the most successful and iconic actresses of the 90s, who plays the part of Joyce Buyers. Her character reminded all viewers of how spectacular she is, which made for an excellent television debut. Several fresh faces took lead roles, yet they work well together very charismatically. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, has gained great popularity for her striking work in Stranger Things. The exceptional cast selected for Stranger Things genuinely takes the show to new heights.

Strsanger Things attracts viewers of several ages. Though the show stars kids, the key audience is much broader than that. There is something to be said about a show that engages teenagers while also captivating adults. The Duffers explain that this was purposeful; that they did not incorporate the conventional wisdom ingrained in most TV and film, “We saw over a thousand people for these parts because we really wanted kids who didn’t feel that they belonged on television and felt authentic.” Their search for authenticity gives the show a good amount of zeal and a down-to-earth feel, while still promoting hauntingly strange aspects.

Through a merging of time frames, extraterrestrial forces, and immaculate casting, the Duffer Brothers have created a top-notch show, and the best Netflix Original to date.
