IT is an American supernatural horror film. This film is directed by Andy Muschietti, and  is based on the 1986 novel IT by Stephen King. This film is the improved and modern version of Stephen King's novel. The official release date of IT was September 8, 2017. IT had a budget of $35 million, and  made $700.4 million in the U.S alone.

The film tells the story of 7 children who grew up in Derry, Maine. All of these seven kids are traumatized because of the eponymous being and they all must face their own personal demons along the way. The seven kids that are featured in this film are Ben Hanscom, Mike Hanlon, Stanley Uris, Eddie Kaspbrak, Bill Denbrough, Beverly Marsh, and Richie Tozier. In the film, the seven kids get to know each other and they all become close. They all must work together to defeat Pennywise. Pennywise is the main character of the movie, and he is a very scary clown who is also part demon. He goes around the town of Derry wanting to kill the 7 seven kids. Pennywise starts off by going in the sewers of the town and that's how he catches kids and kills them.

In the movie Bill has a little brother and his name is Georgie. Georgie goes outside to play with a paper boat that Bill had made for him, and the boat eventually goes down the drain and Georgie goes after it. After Georgie realized the boat went down the sewer he tried getting it and that's when he met Pennywise. He tried to get Georgie to go down the sewer to get his boat, eventually convincing Georgie, and that's when Georgie died. After the death of Georgie, Bill wouldn't stop investigating the death of his brother. Summer came, so Bill and the 6 other kids went on to investigate what was haunting the little old town of Derry.

Throughout the movie, Pennywise goes around haunting each kid and the houses that they live in. He's always out to try and kidnap the kids, but the kids are smart, and they never let Pennywise do anything to them. In the movie Pennywise was always hiding in the sewers of Derry, and one day they decide to go into the sewers to search for him. When they go to the sewer, they start searching but they don't find Pennywise, instead they find a bunch of dead bodies of kids who have gone missing before. The kids slowly start investigating more and more about Pennywise, and they realize that Pennywise awakens every 27 years to feed on the kids in Derry. After studying a map of the sewer lines in Derry, the kids realize that they all lead to an abandoned house on 29 Neibolt Street.

After an attack by Pennywise, the group of kids return to the house to get their revenge on Pennywise. In the process of getting revenge on Pennywise, Eddie breaks his arm. As the kids regroup, Beverly impales Pennywise. After their encounter with him the group splits and they leave Bill and Beverly alone to fight off Pennywise. Weeks go by and the group eventually return to the house to rescue Beverly. After the group rescues Beverly, they encounter Pennywise again. Now the group want to get rid of him once and for all. The group attacks Pennywise with lots of metal pipes, he gets hit hard and goes down, but he doesn't die. While the group was fighting him, he grabs Bill and he takes him to his underground lair. He takes Bill because Pennywise disguised himself as Georgie, and that makes Bill think that Georgie is still alive.  In the lair there is a mountain of old circus props and children's belongings, around which the bodies of the missing kids float in mid- air. The group tries to get Bill back instead Pennywise tells the group of kids that he will let them go, but he will keep Bill. The group of friends don't want to leave Bill alone, so they have another battle with Pennywise and they finally defeat him. When the group defeats Pennywise Bill tells him "It will starve during hibernation".

Bill finally accepts the fact that Georgie is now dead, and he gets comforted by his friends. Summer is now coming to an end and the group decides to meet up at their spot, where they hung out all summer. Beverly tells the group that she will be moving to Portland because she wants to leave her sexually abusive father. Before Beverly leaves, the group promises each other that if Pennywise ever awakens again, they will all meet up in Derry to fight Pennywise once more. The kids keep in mind that IT awakens every 27 years, so they know that they will be back. As Beverly was getting up to leave Bill quickly got up and ran up to kiss her, finally telling Beverly that he has always liked her, ending the film on a happy note.
