Criminal Minds (Season 12)

The Official release date for Season 12 of Criminal Minds was on September 28, 2016 and it ended on May 10, 2017. Criminal Minds is a popular TV show that is based off of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). This show is really well known for its different agents working for the FBI and helping local police stations catch a criminal or as they like to say in the show " An Unsub". Each episode has a different unsub.

Each episode has a different crime that needs to be solved and in the show the agents get to travel all over the United States to solve crimes and each unsub has a problem that can be either emotional or mental. These problems lead them to believe that torture is the way to solve their problems. The show so far has 13 seasons each with 22 to 24 episodes and each episode is roughly 45 to 50 minutes. In season 12 there are 8 agents working for the BAU.

This season of Criminal Minds is such an exciting yet sad season because one of the BAU members (Spencer Reid) goes to jail because in the episode "Spencer" he is caught sneaking off to Mexico without the other agents knowledge. In Mexico he gets caught with drug smuggling and is pressed with murder charges, lucky for Spencer the team is eventually able to free him. Once Spencer has been freed he takes time off although he eventually returns to help the team with other unsolved crimes.

There were many crimes in this season and some of those crimes included serial killing, abductions and suicide. Season 12 was full of many surprises like episode 22 “Red Light". This particular episode was intriguing because a former BAU agent, Derek Morgan, surprised the team with information that Spencer Reed’s mother has gone missing. The one thing that the team doesn't know is that Diana Reid has been in a mental institution for a very long time but Spencer took her out and the team was unaware of that so that made it harder for the team to find Diana. Derek also went to tell the team that he had a lead on an unsub that they had been looking for ever since that start of the season.  Another really big surprise that the team had in season 12 was that their stalker Peter Lewis, also known as Mr. Scratch, had recently escaped from prison and was out to stalk and hurt the BAU team once more. This wasn't the first time that Mr. Scratch was out to get the team and hurt them. He originally started stalking the team in season 10 when he escaped from prison once more. He is really well known for murder, stalking, and hacking. Peter Lewis did eventually die in season 13 of Criminal Minds. His death was caused by his decision to abduct a team member, this lead to the BAU taking matters into their own hands. Season 12 ended with many surprises, but Season 13 has even more secrets to reveal.
