By: Mariana Lopez February 7, 2018
There were plenty of hits and misses in the music industry in 2017. Here is a list of the 10 grooviest jams in 2017.

10.)Feel It Still- Portugal. The Man
Portugal. The man, a band originating in Alaska, released their uplifting song, Feel It Still, back in March. It is the ideal song to dance around your living room to or to simply boost your spirits. The band consists of John Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O'Quin, Jason Sechrist and Eric Howk.

9.)I Feel It Coming- The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk
The Weeknd and Daft Punk came together once more which resulted in the creation of their single, I Feel It Coming. Although it was released in November of 2016, the song didn’t reach its full potential until 2017. The tune simultaneously includes a laid-back vibe and a dancing beat; the perfect combination for a casual night with friends.

8.)Sign of the Times- Harry Styles
Harry Styles has truly brought to light a new chapter in his singing career after releasing his debut solo single in April. The song is slow and harmonious. Something very distinct from his earlier days in the pop boy band, One Direction.

7.)Mi Gente(Remix)- J Balvin & Willy William ft. Beyoncé
The already amazing anthem, released in June, became unstoppable when a remix featuring Beyoncé was released in September. This jam makes you want to jump up and dance anywhere you happen to hear it. It is, without a doubt, the perfect beat for a party.
6.)HUMBLE.- Kendrick Lamar
Once again, Kendrick dropped the perfect combo of rap and a catchy beat in March 2017. The song is relatively upbeat and will definitely make you want to put it on repeat for the rest of your life. It is the ideal hype song.

5.)XO TOUR Llif3- Lil Uzi Vert
Dropped in February 2017, XO TOUR Llif3 is a very straightforward beat. Throughout the song Lil Uzi mentions suicide, dead friends, and other things of the sort. Although this song is very different compared to other hits, it still managed to capture the attention of many people. It definitely pulled on everyone’s heart strings.

4.)Despacito(Remix)- Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber
Many were already raging about this song when it originally came out in January, but once the remix was dropped in April featuring Bieber singing in Spanish for the very first time, it was being played almost everywhere. People were singing “Des..pa..cito” left and right all year long.
3.)Slide- Calvin Harris ft. Frank Ocean & Migos
Released in February 2017, Slide, is undeniably the exact definition of a summer jam. Ideal for playing while swimming in the pool or playing volleyball on a sandy beach. The song is the idealistic composure of Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, and Migos.

2.Bodak Yellow- Cardi B
Cardi B’s single, Bodak Yellow, dropped in June of 2017 was her big break. Everyone was immediately hooked on this jam. Cardi definitely expressed her dominant personality stating, “Lil b***h you can’t f***k with me if you wanted to,” throughout her jam. This is a song of empowerment to all who play and listen to it.

1.)Bad Liar- Selena Gomez
The trendiest song of 2017 was undoubtedly Selena Gomez’s, Bad Liar. An almost mellow jam with an incorporated dancing beat. Selena totally deserves the spot for the trendiest songs of 2017.
